About Michielsen's

Growing Quality Deciduous Trees Since 1989

Michielsen's Tree Nursery is a family owned and operated business, proudly established by John & Sandra Michielsen in 1989. What began on 2.7 hectares has grown into a 15-hectare production nursery — one of New Zealand's leading wholesale suppliers of deciduous ornamental and fruit trees.

Located in Brixton, Taranaki, we supply nurseries and garden centres throughout New Zealand, dispatching approximately 70,000 trees per year — mainly bare root, or bagged on request. Our trees are grown with care and expertise built over three decades of specialised nursery production.

Today the business involves two generations of the Michielsen family, with John & Sandra's sons Dale and Steve now actively involved in the nursery's continued growth and development.

Apples, pears, plums, cherries, nectarines and other popular fruit tree varieties grown for the wholesale market. Budded and grafted to proven rootstocks.

Our trees are mainly supplied bare root during the winter dormant season — the most cost-effective and practical supply method for trade customers ordering in volume.

Michielsen's Tree Nursery is a wholesale nursery supplying nurseries and garden centres only. We do not sell to the general public.

To place an order or request our current trade list, contact us by phone or email. We recommend getting in touch early in the season to secure your requirements — popular varieties sell out quickly.

Trees are dispatched during the winter bare root season. Delivery is available New Zealand wide via Michielsens Transport.
